Staten Island GOP Sends in the Clowns

By RJS

Corrupt GOP Nominates RINO Carpetbagger Michael Allegretti for Congress – In another blow to conservatives around the nation who want take the House of Representatives back from Nancy Pelosi, the Staten Island GOP organization, still controlled by County Leader John Friscia, the clown left in charge by disgraced former Congressman Fossella, chose to nominate a Republican-in-Name-Only Carpetbagger in heating oil heir Michael Allegretti.

Allegretti is a liberal any way you slice it. He once wrote that Obama’s election was a “positive development”1 for the nation. He does not believe in the right to life for unborn children. He was a campaign acolyte for the ultra-liberal former RINO Michael Bloomberg. And as being a self-proclaimed believer in global warming, he has been working for years as an insider Washington lobbyist paid to promote the adoption of cap and trade, the insidious energy tax for which Democrat Mike McMahon has already voted. In fact, Allegretti was quoted in the New York Times saying the passage of the Waxman-Markey cap and trade bill “a major step for US domestic climate action.”2

Allegretti is also a carpetbagger in that he has only lived on Staten Island since August of 2009, never finding the desire to put up with our bridge tolls, our traffic, our lack of mass transit or our overdevelopment until the desire struck him to run for Congress. He goes from one locale to another disingenuously telling people he’s a “lifelong resident of the district,” without filling them that he is just renting an apartment here while he see if he can win.

Worse than that, it isn’t even clear that this joker Allegretti has been a “lifelong resident of the district.” New York Conservative has spoken to many of its Brooklyn friends who said that Allegretti’s announcement that he’s running for Congress in Staten Island and Brooklyn came as a shock, because it was well known that he owned and lived in a million dollar condo at 555 W 23 Street3 in Manhattan since 2005. Does a 30 year old millionaire buy a fashionable property like this and leave it shuttered only to rest his head in an austere rented apartment in Rosebank, Staten Island at night? Manhattanite Bob Straniere made the same claim about his residence, and no one believed him either.

It was bad enough that John Friscia and his minions were to blame for losing our Congressional seat to the Democrats in 2008 by putting up Manhattan resident Bob Straniere to run for Congress on Staten Island. Now these clowns have doubled down by doing it again. It seems as if they can’t get Vito to run for Congress, they won’t run anyone who can win, because Michael Allegretti’s campaign, with this much baggage coming out of the gate, is already over.
