"The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American. There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else." - Theodore Roosevelt, October 12, 1915, in an address to the Knights of Columbus, Carnegie Hall, NYC

The unfortunate thing in this country, is that the last two generations or so of people have not seen any sort of real lows in their lives. No-one has ever had to wait on a bread or soup line. No-one has had their food rationed. People that grew up in the WWII era know what I am talking about. The worst this generation has seen is their 401k's tank, only to have the banks be bailed out by their own federal government. What is my point you ask? It's pretty simplistic. People need an event, a turning point, something that forces them to pay attention. To some, it may be not being able to make payments on their house, losing their BMW or Hummer to the repo man, not being able to put food on the table etc. AS long as the general populace can continue to keep on continuing, there will be no change. In order for change and activism to take place, there need to be specific events, like right before WWI, WWII, the Civil War. If you look at all three of these events, there were reasons for people to WANT to be involved. There is a certain type of person that can heed oncoming warnings, and therefore see trouble on the horizon, where the rest of people will wait until it's much too late. It's human nature to enjoy your fruits without wanting to ever labor.
But now to the point of the original article. We have several problems. The first being that we have unregulated illegal immigration. This is the fault of the federal and local governments, along with greedy small business owners. This is a problem that will exist until we can either get politicians in that are willing to reverse this, or the common people revolt against this tyranny against the general will of the people.
The second problem is with the health care "reform". The general concensus is that citizens do not want this to pass. But the Democratic Congress and Senate is doing their best to ram it through while nobody is watching around the holidays. Back in the beginning days of this country, the people that owned this country (you and I) would protest and revolt. This is both an abuse of power, and again, an act of tyranny against the government that is in place. Nobody else will explain it this way, but this is exactly what is going on. The third problem is a combination of the former two problems. We have unrestricted illegal immigration (think of that phrase, unrestricted illegal immigration), along with politicians who want to maintain liflong power by doing so with a Hispanic vote. What better way to do so by legalizing 20-25 million people. The problem is the people in charge of this decaying superpower have no foresight. These illegals have no intent on intermingling into this country, they are just repopulating and smearing out Anglo culture. So what is the answer? Wake up, and do as the original poster explained. Take a day off, learn what is going on, and get pissed. Becuase this problem is not going away.
